It should be #1! If only everyone thought the same. π
I will have to check out some of those Cure songs on your list that I don’t know. I just got familiar with “A Forest” b/c Bats for Lashes did a remake and it sounds great. Youtube it if you haven’t heard it. π
Not heard the cover of that song. I’ll check it out! π
Always loved ‘A Forest’, especially the ‘Live In Orange’ performance. I saw them play here in Oz back in the nineties – after Robert Smith had hypnotherapy to deal with his fear of flying. It was one of the best live shows I think I’ve seen. π
All great choices – really, it’s tough to have a wrong answer with the cure! I’d have a tough time not including doing the unstuck, friday I’m in love, mint car, pictures of you, fascination street – but I guess my ‘top 5’ could change daily!
It’s funny – as much as I grew up in & love the 80s, I didn’t like The Cure until much more recently. I’d have been a total outcast for liking The Cure in my small metal-loving community in the 80s. π Some of the ones you’ve mentioned I don’t know very well.
Thank you! π Glad to hear from a Cure fan. It’s funny about The Cure – I wasn’t a fan in my teens. It was much later in life that I finally gave The Cure a chance. Still mainly only know the singles but I love these songs like crazy. π
Its funny that you post this because tonight my friend is playing in a Cure Tribute band. I don’t know many of their songs but. I liked that one track they did for The Crow soundtrack.
Oh, I almost missed this comment! Itβs interesting about The Cure… Hereβs my history (if you want it): π In high school I was a metalhead so I sure as shit didnβt listen to The Cure. I only got into them, hmm…. probably in my early 30s? I still need to explore the albums as I only really know the singles (I miss the days of buying actual albums & listening to them as a whole!). But GOD I love those singles. Theyβre possibly my most played songs on my phone & I never get sick of them. Okay – Iβve decided I really need to explore the album tracks now too! And I highly recommend you giving some of the songs a try. Start with Lullaby. And then maybe Why Canβt I Be You. And then the rest on my list! π
What about “A Forest”?
It would make it into the top ten if I’d made it ten instead of five… π

That’s funny – it seems that both Robert Smith & KRS-One have a massive fear of flying. They should tour together. π

nice list! it would be so hard for me to pick just a few.
