My Top Ten Shower & Bath Scenes In Movies

Ever since I reviewed John Carpenter’s The Ward & happened to mention the shower scene with Amber Heard, I see variations of the search term “Amber Heard shower scene” bringing someone to my blog on a daily basis. Pervs! So, screw it – I’ll make a list! Here are my top ten movie shower (or bath) scenes starting with the best:

1. Psycho

Obviously.

2. Hardware

Such an underrated cult classic! I never know anyone who has seen this movie. And the shower scene is awesome with one of the BEST movie songs ever – The Order Of Death by Public Image Limited.

3. Carrie

Dirty Pillows!

4. American Beauty

“This will be the high point of my day: It’s all downhill from here.”

5. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

20130429-015737 AM.jpg
“I recall Central Park in fall.”

6. Weird Science

20130429-015823 AM.jpg
“If you ever get the chance, shower with them. I did. Mmm, it’s a mindscrambler. Hurts so good.”

7. A Nightmare On Elm Street

One, two, Freddy’s coming for you…

8. The Shining

All work & no play makes Jack make-out with creepy dead woman.

8. It

Argh! Pennywise! Creepy f@#king clown!!! I don’t even want this damn picture on my blog!

10. Blade

Cool bloodbath (well, more like bloodSHOWER) club scene. Set to the tune of the Pump Panel remix of New Order’s Confusion.

Honorable Mentions:
Slither
Arachnophobia
Fatal Attraction
What Lies Beneath
Pleasantville
Porky’s
Pretty Woman
The Big Lebowski
Stoker

For the guys:
Starship Troopers (I hate this movie)

Words to bring the pervs in: Hot, Steamy, Sexy, Naked, Boobies. Lol! They’ll be disappointed – my list isn’t very hot or steamy. 😉

      • Are you kidding?! – I love that movie! And Stanley’s follow-up ‘Dust Devil’ is pretty good too (although it lacks somewhat in the shower scene department). 🙂

      • Hardware is awesome. 🙂 Feel like reviewing it but I’ve never reviewed the things I first saw years ago. Always wanted to see Dust Devil too. It was on TV once & I recorded but accidentally deleted it & the hubby is still annoyed about that as it’s quite obscure. I should check if it’s on DVD now!

  1. My friend and I got into a conversation about how far the new Carrie movie will go in the shower scene…the old version seemed to prefer the ‘au natural’ look…maybe the new one will have some vajazzling or perhaps a colorful mirkin.

    • Lol! Thanks for adding a couple of interesting words to my blog, further helping to up my number of views. 😉 The new one will probably go all “Danny Boyle Trance” on us. Yeah – they should stick Rosario Dawson in the Carrie shower scene – she’s certainly not afraid to get her bits out! 😉

    • Ha – was wondering if anyone would comment on that. 😉 Just not a big Paul Verhoeven fan overall but especially didn’t like that one. I like a lot of guy movies for a girl but those just don’t do it for me!

  2. Hardware got in trouble for ripping-off a 2000AD strip. Its like an unofficial 2000AD movie. It would be nice to see it again, remember it being okay. Is it on DVD? Must have a look…

    • Hmm… You know, I believe I watched both the original and the remake and can’t remember the shower scene! Lol! Maybe I fell asleep – I do that a lot during movies I watch at home. 😉

Wait! I kind of remember now… Did it involve a hand?? I’ll go Google that! 🙂

      • I saw the remake and i too remember a hand… a hand too many maybe…? I’m sorry you fall asleep watching movies at home; try to avoid movie theaters so your home movie experience will stay special!

  3. hahah i like the Amber Heard bit. She should shower with that clown from ‘It.’ That would be, just like. . . devastatingly weird.

    • True… I think I missed a lot from this list! Should have made it a top 20. I love how much attention this list gets! It was a lot of fun to create. Thanks for commenting! : )

  5. Great choices there , hard to argue with Psycho up there at number 1 but I would have put Carrie at 2. Guess you cant really include it , but if you stretched your premise a little, Ewan McGregor in the toilet in Trainspotting would be my number 3

    • Thanks! : ) lol – the Trainspotting one IS a great scene. But if I’d included toilets, I guess I’d have to include some other toilet scenes as well. Hmm. Like Full Metal Jacket! And… Hmm… Now I’m thinking I need another list. I may do a “toilet scenes” list now! : )

  6. I must have missed this when you posted it, but it’s a great post! I love Weird Science, I must have only been about 13 when I first watched it. I haven’t seen it in ages and now I feel like watching it again. Unfortunately it’s not yet on Netflix 😦

    • Lol. Thank you! 🙂 It’s funny – this post has stayed in the list of my top posts for a very long time! I think the weirdest one I’ve done so far, though, was My Top Ten Carpets & Rugs In Movies. That was a challenge to think of ten!

  13. Now you know someone else who has seen ‘Hardware’, and loves it! I saw it at the cinema, (hard to find, I had to seek it out), then bought the VHS. The DVD wasn’t available for years, but I got it 7 or 8 years ago from Amazon. I never watched any of the sequels though, the original was too good.
Thanks for following my blog, that made me very happy.
    Best wishes, Pete.
