Okay – I’m falling way behind on reviews lately. I’m not doing TOO bad – out of 57 movies I’ve watched this year, I’ve not reviewed 12 of them. Which of these 12 should I do next? (Might still take me a week!) š
Django Unchained
Wreck-It Ralph
Exit Through The Gift Shop
The Man Who Fell To Earth
Sound City
Vanishing Point
Bicycle Thieves
The Machinist
Man On A Ledge
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (original)
Sound Of My Voice
Mary And Max
The Iron Giant
**EDIT – And the winner is… Exit Through The Gift Shop. Thanks to everyone for their input. (On Twitter as well). š
I’ve done this review now, which you can find here: Exit Through The Gift Shop
Second place was the original Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. I’ll do that next followed by third place, The Man Who Fell To Earth. I’ll then do all the rest that got any votes. This was fun! And it has motivated me to getting around to reviews that I never did. š
Reviews:
How about Vanishing Point? I only saw it just recently and heard just the other day that former music video director Samuel Bayer (Smells Like Teen Spirit) was attached to direct a remake at one stage. It’s a great anti-establishment ‘fuck you’ which Primal Scream also named an album after. š
I actually liked it more than the hubby did, which is weird. I don’t give a shit about cars! But I always like that 70s THING in movies like this. The 70s were cooool. I’ll definitely review it at some point & will let you know when I do. But it won’t be next – you’re the only one to vote for it. š
No worries. š And hey – check out the video for Kowalski by Primal Scream. It’s on youtube. It was directed by Irvine Wlash who wrote the novel Trainspotting (!!!) and features Kate Moss (no relation). The song was inspired by – and features dialog from – Vanishing Point. Just a bit of mindless trivia for you there. š
I’ll check it out! Maybe. Or maybe not… Kate Moss? Ew. š
Yeah, she’s not really my type – needs to eat a burger or two. š
Wreck-it Ralph! I loved that movie!
I also never got to see the Sound City documentary in theaters, so a review of that would be cool.
Sound City was REALLY good – I recommend it. Saw Wreck-It Ralph in the cinema ages ago but just didn’t have time to review it. Just one vote for each of these so they won’t be next but I’ll let you know when I do them. š
The original Girl With the Dragon Tatoo. Noomi Rapace is just spectacular!
She is very good in it. š This is currently tied with Exit Through The Gift Shop so it might be the next! I’ll let you know… I’ll do both eventually. Thanks for “voting”. š
This got second place. I’ve reviewed it now: The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (2009). Thanks for your input! š
Exit Through The Gift Shop.
I second this.
Currently tied with The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo so it might be next. I’ll let you know. (I liked Gift Shop MUCH more…) š
This was the winner! š Review done: https://table9mutant.wordpress.com/2013/06/10/exit-through-the-gift-shop-2010-review-haiku/
Dragon tattoo please. Just so you can post some pics of the lovely noomi!
Currently tied with Exit Through The Gift Shop! I’ll let you know if it’s next. š Have to admit I’m hoping for another Gift Shop vote – I’d rather post Banksy pics. š
This got second place. I’ve reviewed it now: The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (2009) Thanks for your input! I’ve put a few pictures in. š
Thanks! I’ve just read it, I bet all those Swedish names fried the spell check on your computer
Ha! Yeah, I totally copied & pasted all those. My spellchecker hates me anyway as it’s British and I’m American – the stupid thing is always trying to correct me! š
It must be tough being American, you have to mangle the English language! What’s your problem with the letter ‘u’
It’s not needed, dude! Um, except in words like dude. And um. Not color, though! Unnecessary. But necessary for unnecessary…
And Underwear, your favourite word
True! You’re right! U is very important… Unless I switch to panties. Or knickers. But not necessary in the word “favorite”. š
We’ll agree to disagree (even though you’re wrong) š
I’m gonna be different and say Bicycle Thieves š
Well it only has one vote so it won’t be next. But I’ll definitely do it eventually as it’s one of my IMDB Top 250 movies. I’ll let you know when I do! Thanks for “voting”. š
This didn’t win but I finally reviewed Bicycle Thieves. š Link: Bicycle Thieves
Django Unchained or the iron giant š
2 Django votes! One behind Dragon Tattoo & Exit Through Gift Shop. Needs two more votes! Either way I’ll do both of these eventually so I’ll let you know when I do them. š
The Man Who Fell to Earth and include at least 8 Bowie songs.
I SO want this to win… š 2 votes currently. It needs 2 more! š¦ (I’ll definitely do it soon either way)
This got third place. š I’ve reviewed it now: The Man Who Fell To Earth
I’ve been wanting to check out Mary and Max! š
This doesn’t look like it’ll be next but I’ll definitely review it eventually as it’s one of my IMDB Top 250 movies. I’ll let you know when I do it. š Just a warning, though – I’m afraid to say I REALLY didn’t like it… š¦
Thats okay! I just want to hear different opinions on it š
It’s very highly regarded so it’s probably just me being picky… Lol š
I’ve reviewed Mary And Max now. š
I’m sorry – I really didn’t like it… š¦

Sound of My Voice!!
You WOULD pick one no one else did… Lol! I’ll do it eventually – I’ll let you know when I do. š I wasn’t that thrilled with it – Thought Another Earth was MUCH better.
The O.G. Dragon Tattoo. Love that movie. The Americanized ones… ain’t nobody got time for dat.
Currently tied with Exit Through Gift Shop – will let you know if it “wins”. š Yeah, I figure I should watch the rest of the original series before finally checking out the American remake…?
The Swedes know what the hell they’re doing, starting with their meatballs, ending with their fish, and right smack in the middle, their movies. The subtitles didn’t bother me at all, either.
This got second place. I’ve reviewed it now: The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (2009). Thanks for your input! š
Django. I’d like to hear how did you like it. I didn’t.
It’s tied for second place with two votes. Either way I’ll be reviewing it at some point so will let you know when I do. š I liked it very much. However, I’m not sure how much of that is thanks to Christoph Waltz. He’s amazing. Take him out of it and I’m sure it would be much further down my list…
I am also voting Bicycle Thieves. What a classic!
Well it’s in a three way tie for 2nd place. It’s between Dragon Tattoo or Exit Through Gift Shop now. Hoping someone will break that tie (by voting for Gift Shop….) š I’ll let you know when I do Bicycle Thieves! I’ll do that fairly soon.
This didn’t win but I finally reviewed Bicycle Thieves. š Link: Bicycle Thieves
