Man Of Steel Review

      • I also got sick of watching his movies, but I will still always love his first two (his best) Sixth Sense and Unbreakable. I suggest you try and re-watch Unbreakable to help remind yourself have great it really was. I just re-watched it this week and was once again amazed

  1. What about “Man of Steel?!” By the way, you stole my idea for a top ten list LOL. Now I’m gonna have to wait to put it up! Anyway, awesome list, so glad you included “First Class,” such an underrated flick.

  2. Great list!! Hmm..and it doesn’t seem to differ much from what mine might look like:

    1) The Dark Knight
    2) The Dark Knight Rises
    3) Man of Steel
    4) The Avengers
    5) Batman Begins
    6) X Men
    7) X Men 2
    8) Iron Man
    9) Iron Man 3
    10) The Green Hornet.

    …and I threw #10 on there just to start a controversy….let’s see if I succeed. πŸ™‚

    • Haha – I’ve not even seen The Green Hornet so can’t comment! πŸ™‚ Looks better than Green Lantern, which I’ve also not seen. Good list, though! Yes, pretty similar. Although I wasn’t impressed by Iron Man 3 so much. Man Of Steel is very high! Can’t wait to see it later.

  3. Awesome list! These choices are all amazing picks. I don’t really love TDKR enough to put it in my favorites list but it is a decent contender. Good job! This is a great post!

    • Thanks! πŸ™‚ I’m not quite as in love with the entire Nolan Batman trilogy as others seem to be but The Dark Knight really is excellent, mainly thanks to Heath Ledger. Doubt it would be at number one without him. And I think I rate all the X-Men films too highly but just really like them. The Last Stand probably doesn’t deserve to be in there. I have a weird thing for Patrick Stewart. πŸ˜‰

      • I totally see your point. I enjoyed the Nolan Batman films especially the 1st 2 and TDKR to a lesser degree. I’m not an uber-fan though but they are very entertaining and Neeson and Ledger had much to do with it for me, I suppose. As far as The X Men, I love both 1 and 2 and I only watched The Last Stand once and vowed never to re-visit it again, ever. I just watched X2 coincidentally and I never tire of it. Such a great sequel. I hold them and of course Donner’s Superman in very high regard. Once again great post!

  4. Burn Superman to the ground and insert The Incredibles and I like the top half of this list. Glad to see Batman on here. A lot of people say the ’89 version doesn’t hold up anymore… I just don’t see it. Maybe I love it too much.

    • Awww. I know it’s extremely dated but I still like Superman. I’m old school. πŸ˜‰ And Burton’s Batman was the first “geeky” thing I liked – I got SO into that movie at the time. I’ll always like it. πŸ™‚

      • Same here on Batman. Which Superman was the one where he flies around the earth so fast that its axis reverses and turns back time? I was maybe 6 when I saw that, and even back then I knew that made no sense whatsoever. That was my first real exposure to Supes, and I’ve hated him ever since.

      • Um, well.. In the first one. Okay – that was a little cheesy. Lol! But I can’t help it. I’m old & still like it & all its cheesy goodness. And definitely like it better than Man Of Steel… πŸ˜‰

    • Hey – WordPress made a duplicate copy of my Superhero post so I had to delete the other post with your comment. Here’s what you said & my reply:

MojosWork: “No no no no no no no no no and no. All wrong.” “Transformers (1986), Batman (1966), Flash Gordon and The Punisher (2004) are all conspicuous by their absences.”

      1. Not seen it (god, I thought you meant those Bay things for a second) 2. Not seen it 3. You’re right – that should be on here 4. Not seen it. Are we headed for a blog divorce now?? Lol

(Oh! What about The Iron Giant? Is that a superhero movie?? You’re the expert – can I add that?) : )

      • No divorce. We can disagree from time to time. I can’t believe you’ve never seen the Adam West Batman movie, though. That’s unforgiveable.

The Transformers is probably the best movie ever. Amazing animation, and not just for ’86. A bomb voice cast and bomber soundtrack. (Youtube: “The Touch” by Stan Bush.)

Iron Giant… I have only seen snippets of this, but I do think there is a pocket of comic book nerd-dom (or people similar to comic nerds) who hold Iron Giant dear to their hearts, so add it.

While we’re at it, Superman: The Movie is stupid. He flies around the earth opposite its axis to…reverse time???? That makes no sense in any reality, even one with an invulnerable man in underpants.

The Dark Knight Rises: Every cop in the ENTIRE city gets trapped in the sewer? No one was writing parking tickets, hanging out by the phones in the precinct or walking a beat? Oh, why would they, according to this movie, Gotham City was empty anyway, save for a gang of criminals roaming the streets.

    • Thanks! πŸ™‚ Watchmen did make the honorable mentions. It had to as I actually read the graphic novel. The only graphic novel or comic book I’ve ever read – I think I should have started with something more lightweight. Lol

  5. Very nice list! But I’ve gotta confess, I can’t stand the X-Men trilogy for whatever reason… Anyways, I glad to see all of the Dark Knight trilogy, they’re definitely my favorites. Also, I couldn’t resist making my own list, so here it goes:

    1) The Dark Knight
    2) The Dark Knight Rises
    3) Batman Begins
    4) The Incredibles
    5) Watchmen
    6) Iron Man
    7) Superman
    8) Megamind
    9) Spider-Man 2
    10) Man of Steel

    • Thanks! Wow – I love that a couple of you have done your own list. πŸ™‚ I honestly don’t know why I like the X-Men movies so much…! Patrick Stewart helps. I know I’ve left all Spider-Man films out – just didn’t get into those much. Never seen Megamind! Interesting being in your top ten. I have to check that out someday…
