My Top Ten Led Zeppelin Songs

20131206-090033 pm.jpg
I haven’t really listened to Zeppelin since I was, like, 17 (many MANY years ago). But after a Twitter conversation with my regular Twitter buddies (you know who you are!), I figured “What the hell – I’ll do a list of My Top Ten Led Zeppelin Songs“!

In order starting with my favorite:

1. Immigrant Song
2. All My Love
3. Black Dog
4. Over The Hills And Far Away
5. Fool In The Rain
6. When The Levee Breaks
7. D’yer Mak’er
8. Misty Mountain Hop
9. Houses Of The Holy
10. Stairway To Heaven

No Stairway? Denied! (Well, I figured I should stick it in at ten but I had to use a Wayne’s World line anyway).

Honorable Mentions:

Going To California
Kashmir
Rock And Roll
Tangerine
The Ocean
Whole Lotta Love

It was pretty easy making this list since you have to admit that some of their other songs really do suck. πŸ˜‰

    • Thanks. πŸ™‚ Found it really easy. Was obsessed with them yeeears ago but not really listened to them since. It’s easier knowing all these years later which songs have remained (the same? Lol) favorites. πŸ™‚

  1. Me and my wife’s wedding song was ‘Thank You’ from Led Zeppelin II. And what do you mean by the rest suck? Name me a Zep song and I’ll tell you why it doesn’t suck. Great list. BTW, add these to the honorable mentions for me, The Wanton Song, Good Times Bad Times, Heartbreaker, Celebration Day, No Quarter, Custard Pie, Nobody’s Fault but Mine, In the Evening, Hot Dog, and Poor Tom.

    • lol – Was wondering if I should put that last line in. πŸ˜‰ Was inspired to do this list after someone (above!) said he hated Zeppelin. I remember I bought every single album through Presence. I stopped after that one. Can’t say I remember much from it anymore other than Nobody’s Fault But Mine but I reeeeally couldn’t get into that album at the time. Some of the stuff on Physical Graffiti as well just got a little too… Long…. But the ones on my list definitely don’t suck. πŸ˜‰ Interesting song for a wedding, though! Much better than the usual boring wedding songs people choose. πŸ™‚

  2. That’s a bold closing line!
Though of course I can’t stay mad at a blog/blogger that quotes Wayne’s World πŸ™‚
Kashmir would be my #1, though Immigrant Song and Over the hills wouldn’t be far behind.
“The Crunge” would be the weakest in the Zeppelin catalogue but it’s got a bit of that Plan 9 from Outer Space ‘so bad it’s good’ appeal!

    • Lol! I know. I’m sure I’ll get some comments on that. πŸ˜‰ I did this list for someone who said he hates Zeppelin to say “hey – they do have some great songs!” Just not the ones that went on a bit too long. I pretty much literally haven’t listened to them since high school (other than what’s on this list) but do remember NOT liking The Crunge! (I can’t remember it now – may have to refresh my memory). And I quote Wayne’s World probably at least once a week – that movie rules. πŸ™‚

  3. I’m not a huge fan of Led Zeppelin, but my personal favorite is definitely Hey, Hey, What Can I Do. I absolutely love that song!
I also love Black Dog, Over The Hills And Far Away, Misty Mountain Hop, and What Is And What Should Never Be as well.
