Still not happy with the decision to cast Ben Affleck as Nick Dunne in Gillian Flynn’s Gone Girl. The movie will be released October 3rd, 2014. Link to article with above picture: SlashFilm

I did enjoy Gone Girl – I reviewed it recently HERE. I recommend it if you like a good psychological thriller type thing. You have plenty of time to read it before the movie is released. πŸ™‚

  1. Those who know me know I’m not fan of Afflect the actor. But I’ma choose not to judge this choice too harshly.

After all, it’s David Fincher. And Fincher oft gets stellar performances out of his casting choices.

    • It’s Fincher so there’s hope even though it’s AfflICK (See what I did there?). Are you doing an Affleck movie for Shitfest? Oh shit – I have to write mine! Shit. I need motivation. My movie was so boring!

      • : ) a Fincher… : )

I’m actually thinking of putting it off til February since everyone’s been so busy. What do you think?

      • Hmm… Maybe! Have many people sent their reviews to you yet?? I’m a bit stressed – I was already planning on probably getting it to you at 2 minutes to midnight on New Years Eve. πŸ˜‰ I’m kiiiiind of planning a blogathon thingy (with your help – a John Hughes thing – not fully formed a plan yet!) for February or March. If you do February I’ll make mine March! Gives people two months. I dunno. Never done anything like that.

      • Only about four… Six entries including two from me… I would never want anyone to be stressed on my account. Hmmmmmmmm

        I’ll help you do anything : )

  2. I’m currently 1/3 into the book and I didn’t know that it was being made into a film. Now I’m going to be imagining Ben Affleck as I read it. Great. πŸ™‚ Seriously, I’m not sure what to make of that casting choice.

    • Lol – I was also partway through the book when I found out Affleck would be playing him. Ugh. I don’t think he’s right at all. For one thing, I think he’s too old. For another, he doesn’t have the handsome, young baby face always described. Also, I’ve just never liked him as an actor. Not happy! But we shall see how he does, I guess… I’ll still watch it. πŸ™‚
