My Top Ten Black Sabbath Songs

Yep, I have no movie reviews ready to post today so it’s time for a super lazy Top Ten List! Look, Seth – SABBATH! πŸ™‚

Counting down to my number one favorite, here are My Top Ten Black Sabbath Songs:

10. TIE: Planet Caravan & A National Acrobat
9. N.I.B.
8. Electric Funeral
7. Iron Man
6. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
5. Paranoid
4. Fairies Wear Boots
3. War Pigs
2. Spiral Architect
1. Black Sabbath

Number one & two are SO close… Think it depends on my mood. Yeah – I mainly just know the “Greatest Hits”. This was an easy post – I should do these more often!

Actually, I just realized that I can make this a movie-related post as well. One of the many movies I watched in 2014 but didn’t get around to reviewing was Drew: The Man Behind The Poster. I’ll still review that as I found it fascinating and I LOVE Drew Struzan’s movie posters. However, as he’s so well known for his famous movie posters, I had NO idea before watching the documentary that he’d also done one of my favorite album covers (and back cover) for one of my favorite bands! Black Sabbath’s Sabbath Bloody Sabbath:

How did I not know that?? Anyway – here’s the song Black Sabbath. I love that it sounds like what you’d hear on the way to Hell. It’s perfect for the walk to work. πŸ™‚

  1. Nice list. Glad to see “Spiral Architect” gets some love. Hugely underrated song in my opinion as well as the instrumental “Fluff” πŸ™‚

    • Thanks! πŸ™‚ Glad to see some other Sabbath fans. Although no girls yet! Lol. Guess I’m weird. I actually had Spiral Architect at number one to begin with but then thought “which of the two do I actually LISTEN to the most?”. It’s such an awesome song! Wish more people knew it. There’s still loads of Sabbath stuff I’ve never explored – especially in the later years. I’ll be checking out all the other songs that have been mentioned in comments, including yours! Thanks! πŸ™‚

  2. Did I ever tell you that Black Sabbath is my favorite band of all time? Of course there’s not a bad pick here but I always feel Vol. 4 doesn’t get enough attention so I would have maybe ‘Wheels of Confusion’ in there – its so deep it is almost progressive rock. I also love the Ronnie James Dio time period but it almost feels like another band by that point. I would like to add ‘Symptoms of the Universe’ as an honorable mention πŸ™‚

    • No, you’ve never mentioned that. πŸ˜‰ I’m starting to think I’m the only female fan as I’ve had no comments from girls! This is what I was hoping for – I have a limited knowledge of Black Sabbath and really don’t know any later stuff at all so I’m loving that I’ve had quite a few other song suggestions from people. I’ll definitely be checking them all out. I like the sound of Wheels of Confusion – I love a bit of prog rock! πŸ™‚

      • Yeah, BS Volume 4 has all great tunes and powerful lyrics. Not that Sabbath ever wrote radio or commercial tunes (there early stuff didn’t even have chorus’s in the songs) but Vol. 4 is probably their least playable for radio than anything they’ve done. PS. I know there’s a lot of women fans of Sabbath, I’ve seen them at the Sabbath reunion shows! πŸ™‚
