Thanks to everyone who voted in my poll asking which movie I should review next. Sorry – I was too sick last week to make a start on the winners but the top two are written now and ready to post tomorrow & Thursday. There were a lot that tied for third place so I’ll work my way through those next.
I’m happy to see that it turns out more of you like Studio Ghibli than I thought. Um… I’ve already done a bunch of those recently! š

Oh! I have a load of books I’ve read & never reviewed either. Maybe I should do another poll. Hmm… Anyone want to hear about any of these?
Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs
The Good Guy by Dean Koontz
Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
The Martian by Andy Weir
Revival by Stephen King
The Maze Runner by James Dashner
Horns by Joe Hill
I’m voting for The Martian by Andy Weir. My favorite book of 2014.
I liked that book a lot! Can’t wait to see the film. š I’ll definitely review it at some point – I just really struggle with book reviews!
Excellent verdict!!!!!! š š š can’t wait to read the reviews and glad you’re feeling better now.
My vote for books goes to The Maze Runner!
I’ll review The Maze Runner book for sure. I plan to read the second book very soon too before that movie comes out. š
WOO!!!!!
None of mine…………………. : (
Not a surprise… Lol š Hey – didn’t you vote for Melancholia?? Tied for third! I’m reviewing that Friday. š
I think I did – it was one of the few movies I’ve seen on your list…
So one of yours DID win! š And Things To Do In Denver When You’re Dead didn’t do bad with 4 votes…
Yay!! Love love love! I also adore Attack the Block so I’m excited to read your review on that!
I liked Attack The Block quite a bit! A pleasant surprise. I’ll try to review that one soon! Melancholia is next. š
I really didn’t like Antichrist (at all) so I skipped Melancholia. I’m interested to read your review.
Oh, I’ve not seen Antichrist but I do NOT like the sound of that one! Yikes.
Ugh, I hated it. It’s one of those overly artsy movies that only makes sense to the director and has scenes that are really perverse just for the sake of it. I only mentioned it because it’s also directed by Lars Von Trier.
Awesome! Yes to book reviews š
I’m about to read a few of those so I’d love to know about what you thought about Miss Peregrine and Ready Player One!
Well I can tell you right now that I looooooved Ready Player One! I’ll definitely review that one. š I just really struggle to write book reviews!
I’d never say no to a King review!
I’d never not review a King book š I’ll do that one for sure! Eventually… š
I voted for several of those, hurrah!
In book terms, chalk up another one for The Martian.
Okay – it looks like The Martian is the most requested so far. I can tell you that I liked that book A LOT. š
Cool verdict, can’t wait to see your reviews on some of these movies.
I’ve done the two winners now. Will try to review Melancholia tomorrow! š
I look forward to reading that review.
Great work lady! Well, I would love to see Horns and Revival, but that is just me!
Hehe. You KNOW I’ll do the King family. š I just really really struggle with book reviews & never seem to get around to them! Really have to force myself…
Well, PLEASE do for those two at the very least xD
looking forward.
glad to hear ur feeling better!
Well, I’ve managed to write three of the winners so far. Melancholia is up tomorrow. š
Looking forward
Ooh ooh … can we have a “parallel universes review” of Primer? Like we pick a date and everyone who signs up reviews Primer and either post-dates the blog post or otherwise posts it at some specific future date. That way all the reviews come out the same time and nobody will be influenced by anyone else! We could even title the post the same … maybe “Primer: Again” or “Simultaneity of Primer Reviews” (unless someone has a theme for jeir posts and doesn’t want to do that.)
Lol! Don’t confuse me even further – that movie gave me a serious headache!!!! š Seriously, though, that’s kind of an awesome idea! If you can find enough people who actually watched it. Hmm… (I fell asleep about 5 times while watching it) š
I’d love to hear your thoughts on Ready Player One since I very recently read that myself.
Well…. I can tell you that I…. LOVED it! Would make such a great movie. I’ll definitely review it at some point. š Did you like it?
I did! I couldn’t put it down.
I’m happy that it looks like Spielberg will be making the movie. So much better than Nolan, who was rumored at one point. I just hope they can get the rights to use as many of the 80’s references as they can. Will be so much better if they can!
You know my vote’s gonna be for Horns. š Although really I’d love to hear about any of those!
I’ll definitely do a review of Horns. š Really want to see the movie now too!
The movie isn’t as good…but I like Radcliffe in it!!
I nearly bought Miss Peregrineās Home For Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs so would love to know if it’s worth a read.
Hmm….. Well, I bought it because I was intrigued by all the creepy old photos. And it’s awesome that he wrote a story around them. But I found it a bit boring plus I was annoyed to find out it was book 1 of a series (there were no more out at that point yet – there may be now). However, I DO think it’ll make a good move if Tim Burton doesn’t screw it up like he does most movies lately. The story may get more interesting, too – I just really didn’t want to get involved in yet another series of books….
OK, that makes sense. I know what you mean about seriesesesesesesese. I read The Knife of Never Letting go – it was awesome – but I didn’t realise until the end that it was the first in a trilogy!
Maybe I’ll continue making my way through Stephen King’s back catalogue.
Ha! I never know the plural of series! Oh, I definitely recommend King above ALL ELSE! š
Currently reading It. I do most of my reading at bedtime so pretty much shit my pants every night! #Pennywise #Aaaaaaargh!
Oh, It is great! Love the movie too. š
Did you see the latest talk about the new film? Will Poulter as Pennywise!
WHAT?! No! You can’t top Tim Curry!!!!
Tim Curry is a legend, it’s true. I’m interested to see what that kid comes up with, though.
Hmm. We shall see! He better not mess it up. š
Sleep well
