Sorry I’ve not been around throughout December – I find it very hard to keep up on the blogging in the run up to Christmas. Bring on 2016!! In the meantime, here’s a hastily thrown together post of My Top Ten Christmas Movies (full-length films so this list is excluding TV specials such as A Charlie Brown Christmas). I did a top five at the start of my blog so I figured I should update it. At the end I have a list of full-length movies I’ve excluded, as I don’t really see them as “Christmas” movies.
So here’s my Top Ten counting down to my favorite. Merry Christmas Eve, everyone! 🙂

Movies I Excluded (but I like ’em! Gremlins would be my number one if I’d included it):
– Krampus (more Christmassy than Gremlins but am leaving it out since I left Gremlins out)
– Gremlins (it’s only set at Christmastime)
– Die Hard (ditto what I said for Gremlins)
– The Nightmare Before Christmas (sorry – I watch this for Halloween!)

Even if it’s ineligible for such a fun list, Die Hard’s definitely part of our Christmas tradition – Merry Christmas!

Great list! I just watched Scrooged last night and almost laughed myself right out of the chair! The bits between Bill Murray and Carol Kane and Bobcat Goldthwait were my favorites! Merry Christmas!🎅🏻🙋🏻

Love your list! A few I haven’t seen like Bad Santa but the rest I love. My top 5 would be 1. It’s a Wonderful Life, 2. Scrooge 1951, 3. Christmas Story, 4. White Christmas, 5. Home Alone.

Thanks, Alex! I LOVE Gremlins but it doesn’t say “Christmas” to me like those in the top ten do. But I like it more than any in my top ten. 🙂
I know I said this before and I don’t want to annoy you, but I need to say it again. Top Ten lists only have ten things in them (unless there is a tie for number ten and only if there is a tie for number ten) If you have number one and then a tie for number two, the next number is number four. Because you have listed three movies ahead of it. (it’s just counting. Count the movies) What you’re in fact saying is that number two and number three are a tie. Next is number four. I don’t mean to be a dick. I’m sorry and I won’t mention it again for another couple of years. But it bothers the math geek in me. It always has.
No no, this comment isn’t at ALL annoying. Lol! 😉 Top Ten lists may only have ten things in them but this is Cinema Parrot Disco Land, where Top Ten lists have as many things in them as I choose to be in them (I think my record may be 13). 😉 Ties are a must as I’m too indecisive. In fact, there are some lists I may go back & rearrange a bit! Ha! And I can’t skip any numbers as that would annoy my mathematics-hating, numeric-and-alphabet-order-loving brain. In this land it’s “alphabetizing”, not counting. The numbers go in order. 😉 I’ll never change. I’m stubborn as fuck. Be glad you aren’t married to me – my hubby liked your comment & I told him where to stick it. Hahaha! FYI – I’m not mad. You’re the Road House lover, right? I’m writing a review for that right now. I love it so much. I think it’s my joint fifth favorite film in my year’s top ten (containing eleven films) that I’ll be posting later this week) 😉

The 1951 version of A Christmas Carol is the best production of the story thanks to Alistair Sims manic performance.
Since I never could stand Its’ a Wonderful Life I always appreciated the Married With Children hour show with Sam Kinison making fun of that movie. Al Bundy gets electrocuted while hanging Christmas lights. The show followed how much better everyone’s life turned out with Al gone.
I love him! He’s definitely why that version of A Christmas Carol is my favorite. 🙂 Hmm… I watched Married With Children but don’t think I ever saw that episode. That sounds hilarious! I wanna see it. 🙂

Glad we agree! 🙂 Yeah, at one point I’d have put It’s A Wonderful Life first but, if I’m honest with myself, Scrooged & Christmas Vacation are the ones I watch most often while wrapping presents each year. More lightweight, I guess!

How can u say Gremlins and DH dont belong on this list. Isnt a christmas movie, one that happens around dec 25th and the characters must do something to get them in the holiday spirit? killing gremlins or terrorists should get both Billy and John McClane in those fun loving moods. Hey, Holly McClane fell back in love with John after he saved her life and many others on Christmas!
NOPE! They don’t say “Christmas” to me. They aren’t “about” Christmas. Although I love Gremlins more than anything else on this list… 😉
