Happy Birthday to Christian Slater, who turns 47 today!
I’ve loved Slater ever since the top three movies on my list (but especially number one). It’s unfortunate that he’s been in some huge stinkers since (like Alone In The Dark) but he was in some absolutely fantastic movies in the late 80s/early 90s. Oh well… I still love you, Christian Slater! I still wish I was Samantha Mathis in my number one movie on this list. And I’d never break your sweet, baboon heart.
So here are My Top Ten Christian Slater Movies, counting down to my favorite:
**Updated February 2018 to add Gleaming The Cube & the Nymphomaniac movies**
17. Alone In The Dark
16. Very Bad Things
15. Hard Rain
14. Dolan’s Cadillac
13. Nymphomaniac: Vol. I & Vol. II
12. Kuffs
11. Broken Arrow
Top Ten:
10. FernGully: The Last Rainforest
8. Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves
6. Interview With The Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles
5. True Romance

Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country
No complaints here about your #1!
Yay! Another Pump Up The Volume fan! Love that movie so much. : )
“Fuck me, he cleared it!” I love this guy, and he’s just gotten hotter with age. lol
Yeah, I’ll always love Slater. And he really doesn’t seem to age! (Kind of like me, of course… Lol) ; )
Great list! So glad to see Ferngully there, and Heathers in such top place. I personally really want him to be remembered by his older movies, I am not too impressed with what he is doing right now, even his work in Nymphomaniac.
Thanks! : ) Yeah, he’s not been in the greatest stuff in recent years. : ( I obviously like his older stuff the most!
What? Not even an honorable mention for Slater’s debut film, ‘The Name of the Rose’? 😉
Hehe. Well…. I never saw it! ; )
I love this!! And I forgot all about FernGully, but now I’m going to relive that nostalgic number. True Romance would be my favourite Christian Slater movie. I haven’t seen Heathers..
Thanks! : ) I always loved that Slater & Samantha Mathis were in FernGully together after Pump Up The Volume. Lol. He’s great in True Romance! But Heathers is amazing. His defining role. You really should check it out! : )
Wow, he smokes in a lot of movies. I haven’t seen Untamed Heart in decades. Great list!
Ha! I noticed that when I grabbed these pics. I haven’t watched Untamed Heart in ages either but I absolutely adored it. I should dig that one out. : )
Yessss so glad to see Heathers and True Romance on here!! You’ve reminded me of how many incredible movies he’s been in. Great list!
Thanks! Heathers is such a classic. Love it. : ) I wish he was STILL in such great movies…. : (
Awesome list!
Thanks, Zoë! I do love my Christian Slater… : )

He is such a likable actor. And I gotta say he doesn’t seem to age, even now he looks really young.
He does! Like me, he never ages. ; ) lol
We could call you Christina Slater.
Ha! Mrs. Slater. : )
Exactly.
Great List. I have to say that when I saw Ferngully was on your list my heart was filled with pride. I love this movie ever since childhood. Pump Up the Volume is such a great movie and he was such a hottie there. OMG. I do adore him in Heathers as well. Hot maniac. Did you watch Mr. Robot yet?
Thanks! Glad to hear from Heathers & Pump Up The Volume fans! : ) No, I’ve not seen Mr. Robot. I really do need to check it out! Have it recorded but just not had the time yet… Have you seen it?
I haven’t yet, no… but my brother says it’s right up my alley… meaning he thinks I’m pretty weird 🙂 It’s should be really good, though.
I haven’t seem most of these. Kuffs, Heathers, and Pump up the Volume. I liked Hard Rain but most people don’t. But then, I like disaster movies and that was a basically a combination of a heist and a disaster movie.
You have or haven’t seen Heathers & Pump Up The Volume? If you haven’t, they’re must-sees! Well, in my opinion. ; ) I saw Hard Rain so many years ago I have to admit I don’t remember it well now…
Heathers, Kuffs, and Pump up the Volume were the three on the list I DID see.
Ah! Good. Those should be seen by everyone. ; )
I had such a crush on him in Broken Arrow!
He was a hottie! My crush was definitely on Hard Harry in Pump Up The Volume. Also loved him in Untamed Heart – such a different character from others he’d played! So damn sweet. : )
