David Fincher’s Gone Girl Has Different Third Act From Original Novel

20140110-012304.jpg
I love this creepy ass photo from Entertainment Weekly. Click here to read all about what Gillian Flynn had to say in the EW article about her own reworking of her novel to adapt it for the screen (the article stays spoiler-free): SlashFilm.

Very interesting! Well, it could be a good thing. I’m still not sure if I was crazy about the third act of the otherwise exciting & intense book (you can read my spoiler-free review HERE).

First Look: Shailene Woodley Is Sick, Lovesick in The Fault In Our Stars

20140110-011600.jpg

Link to full article here: SlashFilm

It’s going to be a big year for Shailene Woodley! I’m looking forward to The Fault In Our Stars (I’ve not read Divergent). I really enjoyed the book (my review is HERE). I do love all the great young adult fiction that’s around these days. Here’s hoping this movie can be even half as good as The Perks Of Being A Wallflower film (which I loved as much as and probably even more than the book). 🙂 Now if only they’d release The Spectacular Now in the UK so I could finally see it…

“Darkness” Is Holding Up Bill & Ted 3, Says Keanu Reeves

20130915-101146 AM.jpg
This has been going on for years – I don’t think we’re ever going to get a new Bill & Ted film. The following quote from Keanu Reeves when asked about the delay and more information at this link: SlashFilm

It’s a long story. There’s lots of subterfuge and conspiracy theories. There’s a whole thing… I might have to do one of those independent press, conspiracy, other-name kind of [statements] explaining why it hasn’t happened yet, because it’s pretty dark out there.

Also:

Reeves confirmed that “there is [a script],” but added, “There’s all sorts of stuff and it just can’t — it’s just — there’s darkness out there that’s keeping it from happening.” He later continued, “It’s not winning right now. It’s that part of the story where it’s looking grim. It’s the dark period of the idea!”

Arnold Schwarzenegger is committed to return in the new film… Blah blah… It’s also believed that Linda Hamilton with return. Blah blah. And… possibly Michael Biehn! Oh yeah – I like a bit of Kyle Reese. 🙂

The film is to be the first of an entire new Terminator trilogy. Read more details here: Business Insider

Pixar’s Pete Docter’s Inside Out Revealed at D23

20130812-121945 AM.jpg
I’m loving the sound of this new Pixar film. Very “out there”! But so was Monsters Inc and that’s one of my favorites. Will this be a return to the very original films the Pixar we know and love used to do?

The following is an excerpt from this link: SlashFilm. Click the link to read more – quite a concept!

The concept is one, they said, that can only be done in animation. We’re inside Riley, age 11. She’s a happy, adventurous kid from Minnesota who loves hockey. But her family movies to San Francisco and everything changes. The characters are her emotions. Anger, pictured as red with a flattop, is voiced by Lewis Black. Mindy Kaling is Disgust, teen and green. Bill Hader is fear, purple and puzzled, in a black and white checkered shirt. Phyllis Smith is Sadness, blue and wearing glasses.

And the most important character is Joy, voiced by Amy Poehler, in a yellow dress, with short blue hair. We have more story info below.

Footage shown and described let us know about the “headquarters” of the film — Riley’s consciousness, seen as a screen, with memories storied on racks. Joy is at the controls. If she likes a moment, they store it on a shelf, and it can be replayed like a DVD. But tensions are escalating in headquarters. Joy and Sadness are thrown out of the mind and into places people have thought about but never seen.

One space, Long-Term Memory, looks like a huge room. There are Imaginationland, Abstract Thought, and Dream Production (looks like a movie lot), all connected by the Train of Thought. Headquarters is left with Anger, Fear and Disgust in charge. Things are hard for Riley.

The Crow Creator Shares Good News About The New Film

20130809-010735 PM.jpg
The Crow creator James O’Barr has the following to say about the new movie, which will star Luke Evans and be directed by F. Javier Gutierrez, according to this link: GeekTyrant

O’Barr talked to Total Film about the director’s plan for the film, and what he thought of Evans’ makeup test:

“It was his idea to go right back to the source material and essentially shoot it shot-for-shot, as in the book, but with a little more backstory for some of the characters.

He wants to be as faithful as possible, even down to all the visual metaphors of trains and horses.

The producers showed me some shots of [Luke Evans] in the make-up and the tragedy really shows on his face, especially his eyes. He has a really commanding screen presence.”

Remake Alert! DAY OF THE DEAD

20130711-110825 PM.jpg
The following is from this link: GeekTyrant

Texas Chainsaw 3D producers Lati Grobman and Christa Campbell have picked up the rights to George Romero‘s zombie film, Day of the Dead, and they are going to remake it.

Yeah. That’s all I need to know. Click the link if you want to read the whole thing.

Piss off! Piss off, Hollywood, with all your damn remakes. Piss OFF. Leave Romero alone. Go make some inferior zombie movie of your own, dammit – can you not come up with an original idea?!?!?

That is all.

Warner Bros Gives Up Friday The 13th and South Park Rights For Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar

20130606-014152 PM.jpg
So, basically, to put things simply: Warner Bros is giving the rights to South Park & Friday The 13th to Paramount in some deal they’ve made to BOTH be producing Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar. Or something. But Paramount have to make at least one South Park & one Friday The 13th movie in the next five years or the rights go back to Warner Bros. Right?

Well, just read the whole article at the following link in case I messed that up. I’m just hoping there’ll be a new South Park movie. 😉

Spock is Ready to Ditch Star Trek For Star Wars: Episode 7

20130605-081257 PM.jpg
Below is from the following link: ScreenCrush

When asked in an interview if he’d want to be in the next Star Wars movie & work with JJ Abrams again, Leonard Nimoy had this to say:

Oooh. Ooooh, wouldn’t that be fun. I would love to. I think it would work wonderfully. I think it would work just great. I think it would be a great idea, and somebody ought to tell him that.

Because, you see, Leonard Nimoy knows that, while Star Trek IS very good, it will never compare to the genius of the original Star Wars trilogy… *just seeing if anyone takes the bait. Lol. It’s true, though.* 😉

Phwoar! Thor!

Only two photos & he’s fully clothed, though. No photos of Thor in his underwear. If I had a photo of that, I promise I’d post it. 🙂

Richard Linklater Hopes to Film Dazed and Confused Sequel This Fall

20130523-112644 PM.jpg
What?! Oh, this could be awesome…

Read the following & more here: Rolling Stone

The movie will reportedly take place over the course of a weekend at a college in 1980, and while it attempts to capture the style and feel of Dazed and Confused, Linklater has said that none of the characters from the original will reappear.

I recently posted how, if I was a filmmaker (Ha!), I see myself as a Richard Linklater making films like Dazed And Confused. Love that film. Lots of responses to that – looks like we all want to be filmmakers. 🙂 Link: What Kind Of Film Would YOU Make?

Jon Hamm Joins Sandra Bullock in Despicable Me Spin-Off Minions

20130501-075747 PM.jpg
I love these dudes. 🙂 Can’t wait for Despicable Me 2 & the Minions spin-off. This article from SlashFilm contains the following synopsis:

This spinoff establishes that Minions have existed since the beginning of time, in service of history’s most ambitiously evil villains. Through their lovable ineptitude, Minions have managed to thwart and ultimately destroy all of those bad guys. This story picks up in the 1960s, before they hench-ed for Gru. With no more super-villains to serve, the Minions fall into a collective depression and three of them set out to seek a new evil master. They wind up at a villain convention, where they compete for the right to be henchmen for Scarlet Overkill, whose Audrey Hepburn-like high style appearance belies her world domination ambition and her aspirations to become the world’s first female super-villain.
