I don’t get time to read as much as I’d like. Stephen King has been my favorite author for years. My favorite book is The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.
Some Favorites:
The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy – Douglas Adams
The Hobbit & The Lord of the Rings – J.R.R. Tolkien
The Dead Zone, It, The Green Mile, ‘Salem’s Lot, The Shining, The Long Walk, Night Shift (etc etc etc) – Stephen King
20th Century Ghosts – Joe Hill
World War Z – Max Brooks
1984 – George Orwell
Twilight Eyes – Dean Koontz
To Kill a Mockingbird – Harper Lee
High Fidelity – Nick Hornby
The Lovely Bones – Alice Sebold
Flowers for Algernon – Daniel Keyes
One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest – Ken Kesey
Battle Royale – Koushun Takami
The Colour Of Magic – Terry Pratchett
And not an absolute favorite but certainly one of the most interesting books I’ve read in a long time – Ella Minnow Pea by Mark Dunn. I loved the original concept.

I love this list!! You have such great taste in books. Douglas Adams rules!
Thanks! I’m a bit mainstream and keep telling myself I should read more classics but just never seem to get the time. Plus, there are so many movies to watch… 😉 I really need to read the rest of the “Hitchhiker’s” books. Yeah – I haven’t read them as I was told not to bother but I really should anyway…
Ive just started reading Stephen King and I’m really enjoying the books so far!
I never know with you if you’re joking. ; ) Have you really only just started reading King??
No really, Ive finished Hearts of Atlantis and Ive started the first Dark Tower book. Looking forward to reading more of his books
If you haven’t read The Stand yet I highly recommend it. Even in the daylight It had me looking over my shoulder.
Know what’s funny? I read over half of The Stand but then life got in the way & I got way too busy to finish. By the time I had the time to read again, it had been too long & I knew I’d really have to start over from the beginning on The Stand. Just haven’t had the energy to do that yet… It’s very long! Lol. I feel awful about never having finished it, though – I adore King & it’s one of his only books I have yet to read. I really did enjoy the first half! ; )
