Happy 75th Birthday To David Cronenberg.
I love Cronenberg’s older films but have to admit I’ve seen very few of his films from more recent years. I preferred the really weird shit he used to do. The good old-fashioned body horror days! Which is weird, as I’m a mega wuss when it comes to violence in movies. But I love a good body horror (from the days when the special effects were pretty dodgy looking). Most of his films make the list of My Top Ten Body Horror Movies.
Counting down to my favorite, here are My Top Ten David Cronenberg Movies:
11. Dead Ringers (don’t remember this well now)
Top Ten:
8. Rabid
7. Shivers
3. eXistenZ
Movies I’ve Not Seen:
Stereo, Crimes Of The Future, Fast Company, Naked Lunch, M. Butterfly, Spider, Eastern Promises, A Dangerous Method, Cosmopolis, Maps To The Stars
Not seen much of him. But sure do love The Fly
Well, he’s an acquired taste. š But if you love The Fly, I think you’d be fine with any of his old body horror films! Or maybe do something more in the middle… eXistenZ may be a good one to try out. š
Nice list, but oh my. You do like the gore and the macabre. I love it in Cronenberg’s films too. I am glad that at least A History of Violence made your list (I would have included Eastern Promises too!), and I am personally offended that you don’t remember well Dead Ringers hehe :)))) Jeremy Irons was magnificent there.
Ha! I do but I don’t… I only like gore if it’s super fake-looking. I’m a major wuss. š I liked A History Of Violence but that sort of more realistic violence bothers me much more. I should watch Eastern Promises too… And I suppose I better rewatch Dead Ringers! Lol š
You’re a little legend Miss Mutant!!!!
Thank you, Emma!!! I know you’re a Cronenberg fan as well. We rock! š
We do!!! ā¤
